Ben Assad Mirza – Profile

Background: Through these times of corporatization of medicine, Ben Mirza offers practical legal advice to avoid the pitfalls in healthcare regulations; guiding healthcare businesses during their most challenging times including mergers and acquisitions and complex business combinations.  Ben has been an attorney since 2001, with prior experience working as an in-house for large and small hospital systems, physician groups, insurance plans, and other organizations involved in the healthcare industry. He was formerly a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC, as a compliance officer). Ben has served as litigation counsel in over 1,700 court cases with varying degrees of complexity, nuances and sensitivities. 

Work and Community Involvement: Mr. Mirza is the managing partner of Mirza | Healthcare Law Partner, a firm that offers legal services in the area of healthcare business, compliance and litigation.  Ben serves on the Florida's Board of Dentistry, and he is the exclusive legal counsel to Broward County Medical Association (www.BCMA.com), the Lee County Medical Society (https://lcmsfl.org), and Dade County Medical Association (www.MiamiMed.com). Ben also volunteers his time to the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of South Florida, the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) of Florida, and the Indian Physicians of Florida (IPOF).  Ben is a key presenter for the business side of medicine in a monthly seminar series hosted by the South Florida Hospital News and Healthcare Report. Education: Education is a passion for Ben, he holds a Masters of Public Health & Administration from Yale University; a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University; a Masters of Law (LLM) in Taxation, with a concentration in Mergers & Acquisitions from Villanova University, and a Bachelors in Accounting from Florida International University.
